“There’s a lot of exploring and sneaking to do around the island. I wanted ‘The Island’ itself to have a voice, speaking through the music when Lara was exploring. Even more so when she’s being stealthily, like in this cue. Listen for the textures from The Instrument and my own percussion sounds. They represent The Island as one of the game’s main characters.”

“This piece is a great example of the dynamic music system in Tomb Raider. A great deal of the game was scored one event at a time, so as Lara progresses through a level the music moves with her. This is a lot more seamless than just using a standard two minutes loop and repeating it for ten minutes. Listen for the music to change as Lara explores the mountainside and encounters enemies.”

It reveals a very different version of the young Lara on an island setting, riding a horse across a beach, fleeing a crashing aircraft and battling mythological monsters – all with a voice over introducing the origins concept: “I’m not perfect, I’m not bullet-proof. I bleed…”. When the video ends, Gallagher says, “I think we nailed it”. The project was instantly green lit.”

I finally got my LEGO Lord of the Rings Plat today! It was definitely fun and my favorite LEGO game so far. Of course there were moments when I became frustrated because of glitches (every LEGO game has em’) but that didn’t stop me from playing

Now I have my backlog (not in particular order)

I blame..

So, I’ve been slacking with pretty much everything for the past couple months. I have a small backlog and I blame Netflix for that.

It’s addicting and I can get lazy sometimes. Well, most of the time.

I recently started playing Lego Lord of the Rings and I have to say it’s very creative and probably my fave Lego game so far. It’s time consuming with all the Blacksmith Recipes you have to find and forge and quest to unlock and complete. You know the usual collectible stuff. But I do love those Lego games so I can’t complain.

I also have been playing Uncharted 3 multiplayer. I suck! I don’t think I’m any good at shooters anymore. I blame all the other great games out there that pulled me away from shooters. It’s a bittersweet thing though.

Speaking of shooters, I’ve been wanting to get Black Ops II because I love zombie mode and I kinda miss online action. But I got Hitman Absolution instead. Another game added to my backlog. Not to mention, all the games releasing this year, including *Gollum voice* my preeeeccioouss Tomb Raider (had to throw that in there).

Well I should get back to trophy hunting…or get on Netflix..

I totally forgot how music made me feel. I’ve noticed that when I go a day without listening to music (besides the annoying music at work), I’m grouchy and mean. Music definitely soothes my soul.
